Why I first started blogging
I first started blogging in my first year of university for an assignment. I started off easy with a book and film review blog as I was studying English literature and would have plenty of content. Soon I learned that I loved writing, and so kept pushing myself to create more content, setting up social media profiles for my blog and connecting with the book blogging community. I have had this blog for around four years now, but I just lost the passion for it. Working two jobs I have found it incredibly difficult to read new books and watch new movies so that I could write about them. I was no longer in love with my blog.
Why I started adriftdaisy
Although I no longer write for my review blog, I still wanted to write. With one of my jobs I research and read a lot of parenting blogs, and through reading all of these lifestyle parenting blogs I really wanted to try my hand at it. I wanted my blog to be anonymous due to some of the stories that I wanted to write. Some are incredibly personal and although I am ready to share the stories with the world, I’m not quite ready to fully share myself.
Having started this blog, I feel relaxed and excited to be writing again. I’m telling my story. A lot has happened to me over the past three years, a lot of it bad, but this blog is my way of release. I am happiest when I am curled up in bed, planning out my blog posts and talking to other bloggers. There is such a large blogging community and I am lucky enough to be a part of it.
Adriftdaisy has allowed me to interact with some amazing people, it has allowed me to not be afraid to tell my stories. Most of all, it has awoken a great passion towards writing. I’m even thinking about giving up one of my jobs so that I can focus on my blog.
